Sorry, dudebros: Sarah Silverman’s “sorry, it’s a boy” Super Bowl ad isn’t sexist

Silverman and Chelsea Handler brag about the great service they get (via T-Mobile) in all the different rooms of their mansions. About 16 seconds in, when Silverman boasts of her underground delivery room, she hands a new mom a squalling baby. "Sorry, it's a boy," Silverman winces as she passes off the child.

A bunch of people on Twitter are up in arms about a joke in a T-Mobile commercial that aired Sunday during the Super Bowl for its supposed sexism. But, for me, the ad was just hilarious.

As a male I found your actress choice and ad content choice offensive and will never join a company that engages in misandry.

I didn't see the ad, or anything else related to the Super Bowl, but it doesn't sound like that big a deal. Pretty standard Silverman: say something deliberately offensive and a bit unexpected and hope to get a laugh rather than being kicked out. It's why I really don't pay much attention to her any more. This isn't really worth the effort, but that's true of plenty of things feminists get worked up over too.
